who is jesus?
Who is Jesus? Jesus offers good news of salvation, healing and hope. His invitation is for all people, all nations, all languages, whoever calls on His name. His name itself, Jesus, means 'God saves.'
He came to bridge the divide between heaven and earth and to make a way for humanity to be restored to God. He gave his life in payment so that anyone can receive forgiveness and redemption.
His character and mission are to do good and to represent His father. He says:
"The Spirit of the Lord is on me. He has chosen me to be His representative to the poor and to preach good news to them. He sent me to tell those who are held captive that they can now be set free and to tell the blind that they can now see. He sent me to liberate those held down by oppression. To proclaim that now is the time; it is the year of the Lord's favour." Luke 4:18-19
I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who died for my sins and rose to life again.
I am sorry for my sins; and ask for your forgiveness. I accept Jesus Christ as my own personal Saviour.
I ask you to transform my life and give me your Holy Spirit to lead me all of my days.
Thank you for your unlimited goodness and grace over my life.
In the name of Jesus. Amen.
REAL PEOPLE, REAL STORIES
I grew up in pre-revolutionary Iran. My parents were quiet and humble people and had many children. Our house was happy and we lived in freedom. I was still young in 1979 when the Islamic Revolution occurred and my country changed. We could no longer walk down the street without persecution simply for wearing the wrong clothes, talking to the opposite sex, or anything deemed ‘against Islam.’ People were suspicious of each other and old scores…Read More
I’ve known what it is like walking with Christ and what I experienced when I went it alone. They don’t compare. I was raised in a Christian house by hardworking parents. Life was good and safe. Other than the usual teenage angst I can’t remember too many problems. I had great friends and attended the local Christian school. I remembered thinking, ‘with all the rubbish going on in the world, how did I win the…Read More
When God is involved there is always hope. Life can throw curve balls our way; that’s for sure. But it’s the way we respond and get back on our feet, dust ourselves off and learn from our mistakes that makes the difference. I grew up on the Northern Beaches, got married, had a family and worked hard to make ends meet. Way back in 1981, my Mum and Dad encouraged me to go to…Read More
"The message is as true among you today as when you first heard it.
It doesn't weaken or diminish over time. It's the same all over the world."
